alphadidact® Digital in IT rooms and workshops

As part of the modernisation of its training campus, the Chamber of Crafts (HWK) Cologne has equipped nine training rooms with alphadidact® Digital multimedia training systems from EBS Euchner Büro- und Schulsysteme GmbH. The modernised rooms include several IT training rooms as well as directly connected workshops – among them a state-of-the-art automotive training workshop.

Challenge
HWK Cologne wanted to increase efficiency and practical relevance in training, especially in the field of automotive technology. The following challenges were identified:
- Trainees had to stand directly under the vehicle to observe difficult-to-see work processes (e.g. on the rear axle)
- Restricted view – not all apprentices could follow the work steps at the same time
- In the IT rooms there was no direct connection to the workshops; theory and practice were separated
Solution
The solution was the comprehensive installation of alphadidact® Digital multimedia systems. A high-resolution camera was installed at the vehicle lift. The live camera signal is transmitted in full, uncompressed resolution via the alphadidact® system to all screens in the IT training room. The trainer can demonstrate work processes in detail and from a safe distance. Central control is via a touchscreen control panel – flexibly switching between camera, PC, laptop or other sources.
Results
- Better visibility: All apprentices receive a detailed view of the work processes – regardless of their position in the room
- Increased safety: Trainees no longer need to stand under the vehicle; accident risks are reduced
- More efficient teaching: The trainer can respond more specifically to questions
- Flexible media use: Camera image, presentations and screen sharing can be combined dynamically
“Installing the alphadidact® system has significantly improved the quality of our training. In particular, the ability to transmit complex work processes directly to the screens in the training room has greatly increased the learning effect.”
The combination of practical demonstrations and digital real-time transmission creates a modern, safe and didactically well thought-out learning environment.
