Four alphadidact® Digital multimedia systems in New Alamein City

The Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) is the largest educational institution in New Alamein City, Egypt – with focus areas in engineering, medicine, maritime sciences and technology. To offer its dental students state-of-the-art teaching methods, the academy decided to implement four alphadidact® Digital multimedia systems in its dental training labs.

Challenge

The systems had to be integrated into the existing infrastructure without interrupting ongoing teaching. They also needed to be suitable both for lectures and for interactive workshops and presentations. The architectural characteristics of the lecture halls required tailor-made planning to ensure optimum image and sound quality.

Solution

In cooperation with Dentsply Sirona, Crizma and the academy's IT and teaching departments, EBS designed a customised solution for four lecture halls. The focus was on flexibility, ease of use and highest visual quality. The alphadidact® Digital systems were installed in four lecture halls, each with 1 + 45 simulation stations.

The systems allow multiple sources to be displayed simultaneously – laptops, cameras, microscopes, tablets – with seamless switching. After installation, extensive tests were carried out and teaching staff trained on site.

Results

The introduction of the alphadidact® Digital systems has sustainably improved teaching and learning processes. Thanks to high-resolution 4K technology, complex visual content can be presented clearly and understandably. Lecturers can respond more flexibly to students' needs; quick switching between presentation sources ensures more efficient teaching. Students report better visual clarity and more interactive possibilities.
